STREAM: Fugue’s New EP “Siblings”!

Fugue is awesome (it is even their Myspace URL).  Combining elements of mathy indie rock with the atmospheric and layered tendencies of post-rock, their new EP, Siblings, is an all-instrumental four-track outing from the sextet, and their follow-up to last year’s fantastic Ancient Glass EP.

Siblings is a step forward for the band.  It is clear that they have refined their skills even more, working with more layers and sounds to create captivating soundscapes.  Additionally, the production on Siblings is a vast improvement from their previous release, allowing you to fully engross yourself in the music.

This EP is highly recommended listening for any fan of instrumental indie rock and post-rock music.  If you have no patience, check out “Sirens”, one of the standout tracks of the year.  It fully showcases the band’s ability to write emotionally involving progressions.  The ending is absolutely gorgeous.

Tracklisting:

1. Like a Nightingale
2. So It Goes
3. Sirens
4. Vardøger

While listening, make sure to check out the band on Myspace, and go to their Bandcamp to pay what you want for Siblings, as well as their previous EP, Ancient Glass.
