The Beastie Boys made an announcement via a video uploaded to their website this morning that one-third of their ranks has a tumor in his parotid (salivary gland). The right honorable Adam Yauch (aka. MCA, or Nathaniel Hörnblowér if you’re so inclined) explained how the tumor was caught early and is quite treatable with surgery and localized radiation treatments.
Yauch conveyed his sincerest apologies when he announced that his illness would require the cancellation of seven Beastie Boys performances in the near future, as well as the delay of their upcoming album Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1.
