Things To Check Out This Weekend (Nov 20)

Royal TheatreFun and free films at the Royal!

The European Film Festival has hit Toronto, bringing with it a slew of absolutely amazing and FREE films to The Royal Cinema. It all actually starts on Thursday night with the Czech film The Karamazovs (2008). Following which, Friday night brings a double bill starting with the Slovakian dark romance Half-Life at 6:00pm and ending with the muchly hyped french film A Prophet at 8:30 PM, which premiered early this year at the Toronto After Dark Festival.

If you are already going to be at the Royal for A Prophet, why not stay for a bit until 111:30 (I suggest lining up at 10:30 to get tickets!) and enjoy THE GREATEST FUCKING MOVIES OF ALL TIME: The Room (click here for our Hearwax review). Unfortunately the room is still $12, but as someone who rarely pays for films, this one is worth it.

The EU Film Festival continues on through the weekend and until Dec 2, bringing excellent FREE foreign films. Check out the schedule here.

I’ll see you Friday night! (Don’t forget to bring plastic cutlery!!!)
