Periphery Joins the Sumerian Family

Sumerian Records has signed Washington DC’s PERIPHERY.

The band had this to say:

“We are extremely happy and proud to be members of the Sumerian family. Sumerian is one of the most progressive and forward-thinking labels in this ever-changing industry, and that is why we feel they are the best label for us.”

Sumerian Records Founder Ash Avildsen added:

“I love bands who take chances. I love bands who choose originality and musicianship over the “safe bet” of a stagnant sound . Periphery reminds me why we started Sumerian Records: to release and support music of cutting edge artists that need to be heard for the sake and progression of heavy music. Periphery executes combining heavy progressive metal with undeniable infectious melody in a way I haven’t heard before. They take their songwriting and musicianship just as serious as we take our label and that is why we could not be more excited to officially have them now part of the Sumerian family.”

PERIPHERY is on their fourth week of the Thrash and Burn Tour alongside DEVILDRIVER, EMMURE, DESPISED ICON & VEIL OF MAYA and will head back in to the studio immediately following the end of the tour to complete their full length album which will see a 2010 release through Sumerian.
