“It Might Get Loud” Trailer

It Might Get Loud

This is, my friends, is a documentary to bring music fans together.  In what is no doubt bound to be a very curious and entertaining piece of documentary entertainment, three icons of rock music for their own generations come together for a summit of insight and knowledge to share, collect, and pass on their knowledge from one mind to the other, allowing us as the audience a glimpse of the process.

Buzz about this film has been flitting about since it’s concept was announced some months ago.  In their own words, the personal stories of The Edge (U2), Jimmy Paige (Led Zeppelin), and everyone’s favorite jack-of-all-trades Jack White (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Dead Weather) are unfolded.  Together, to each other, as well as the audience, the history of how each of them “came to be” is unraveled.  Their sense of rebellion, of travel, and unique approaches to their craft is explored in a friendly setting.

The official trailer itself (located below) is a sight to behold.  Jimmy Paige offers a brief glimpse of his record collection (really look for it, it happens quickly), The Edge displays his trademark sense of modesty, and Jack White…well…the trailer opens with him making a guitar out of a plank of wood and an empty coke bottle before later explaining in a joking manner how he plans to steal the secrets of the other two before the fist-fight he envisions happening.  While admittedly White has garnered much media exposure in the past weeks, the film is arguably worth seeing just for him, as he’s rarely offered any manner of video-recorded interviews for most of his overall career.

It Might Get Loud is due to be released in theatres on August 14th, 2009.
